It is also the largest human-made structure ever built in terms of surface area and mass."

It is famous for having many stone structures carved into the rock..The long-hidden site was revealed to the Western world by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812."

Machu Picchu

"Machu Picchu was constructed around 1450, at the height of the Inca empire, and was abandoned less than 100 years later, as the empire collapsed under Spanish conquest. Although the citadel is located only about 50 miles from Cusco, the Inca capital, it was never found and destroyed by the Spanish, as were many other Inca sites."

Chichen Itza

The Colosseum

"The Colosseum or Coliseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre.., is a giant amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. Originally capable of seating around 50,000 spectators, it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. It was built on a site just east of the Roman Forum, with construction starting between 70 and 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian."

Taj Mahal

"The Taj Mahal (sometimes called "the Taj") is generally considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements of Persian, Turkish, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles. While the white domed marble mausoleum is the most familiar part of the monument, the Taj Mahal is actually an integrated complex of structures."
